Our search algorithm expects major updates to occur after elections. Our screening tool will follow election news and update the PEP data accordingly as results become available. Monitoring is scheduled daily, with most sources updated within a month.
Sanctions & Watchlists
Sanctions: Our screening tool constantly monitors sanctions alerts and lists to ensure that we do not miss out on a sanctioned entity — the major global sanctions programmes issued by OFAC, HM Treasury, UN, EU, AUSTRAC, MFAT etc. Automated checks are carried out every 15 minutes and these updates are reflected on our database within hours. Customers can also subscribe to a daily ongoing monitoring alert, which sends updates if and when there are any changes or new entries.
Watchlist: The frequency ranges from every day to once a month, depending on factors like the importance of the list, the country, etc.
Fitness & Probity
Our screening also draws on fitness and probity data — including regulatory enforcement actions, disqualifications and prohibitions issued by financial and professional regulators — so that individuals who have been found unfit to hold a regulated or key position are flagged. These sources are monitored on an ongoing basis and reflected in our database as updates are published.
Adverse Media
If an article is selected by our screening algorithms, it will be visible within the initial or ongoing monitoring profiles 48 hours after the publishing date.
Ongoing Monitoring
When a profile is placed under ongoing monitoring, First AML continues to screen it against these data sources after the initial check and surfaces any new matches — such as a change in PEP status, a new sanctions or watchlist entry, or newly published adverse media — as they arise, so you are kept up to date on any changes.
