Summary 


First AML's short identity verification form enables us to collect your identity documents, such as a current passport or driver licence and address information, and verify your information in a fast and secure way.

Your ID and address is verified against the relevant government databases to ensure the document and information is valid and current.


We also require a video or photo of yourself which is collected through the form. This is so our AI-based technology can compare your facial biometrics to your identity document, to ensure that no one is trying to submit your details as their own.



Note for individuals residing in China


Due to Chinese data laws, if you are currently residing in China you will be unable to access your electronic identity verification form. Please instead provide identity documentation manually, in line with the following guidelines: Alternatives to electronic verification.

How to Complete The Identity Verification Form - Mobile


This section will explain how to complete your Identity Verification Form, using your mobile phone.


Before you begin, you will need your mobile phone and your ID handy, either your Passport or Drivers Licence.

  • Press the arrow on the right bottom side of the guide to work through each step of the form.

How to Complete The Identity Verification Form - Desktop


This article will explain how to complete your Identity Verification Form, using your Desktop to upload photos of your ID.


Before you begin, you will need to have a photo of your ID downloaded on your computer. You will need either a photo of your Passport's ID page, or a photo of the front (and back for NZ) of your Drivers Licence or a photo of the front and back of your national ID card.


Please note we cannot accept scans/photocopies, we can only accept clear photographs.

Step 1: Get Started


  1. Open your email from First AML with the link to your secure ID verification form 
  2. Tap "Verify [your name]'s ID "
  3. Once the form opens, click 'Get started'




  1. Click the tick box to make it green, to provide consent to First AML electronically verifying the information you provide. 
  2. Click the green box: ‘I accept’ 


 

Step 3: ID: Select Country & Type


  1. Click the white box to select the country your ID is from. 
  2. You can either scroll through the dropdown list to find your country, or you can start typing and select your country
  3. Select either 'Passport', 'Drivers Licence' or "National ID", depending on which ID you will be using to complete the form
  4. Click the green "Next" button


Step 4: Let's Verify Your Identity


  1. Click 'Next'




Step 5: Upload ID


  1. To upload a photo of your ID from your desktop files, click 'or upload photo- no scans or photocopies'
  2. Click 'Upload photo'


If you do not have your ID photo downloaded on your computer and want to take photos of your ID with your mobile phone, click 'Continue on phone' and follow from step 6: How to Complete The Identity Verification Form - Desktop to Mobile 





Step 6: Upload Photo


  1. Select your ID document for upload.




Step 7: Check Image


  1. If the details of your ID Document are clear and unobstructed, click 'Upload'

-If you need to upload a different photo, click 'Redo'



Step 8: Record Video


  1. Click 'Record video'




Step 9: Get Ready to Record


  1. Position your face within the oval frame
  2. Click the red camera icon to start recording


Step 10: Take Video


  1. Your screen will display three digits, say each digit out loud, then click 'Next step'
  2. Turn your head to the right/left (depending on your instruction), then face forward, and click 'Finish recording'


Step 11: Check Video & Phase Complete 


Here you have the option to replay your video. 

  1. Click 'Upload' if you are happy with the video, OR click 'Redo' if you need to retake the video
  2. If you have pressed 'Upload' in step 1, now click 'Next'



Step 12:  ID Details 


The details of your ID will automatically populate into this page. 


Please double check the inputs to make sure they are correct. 


1. Driver Licence, Passport or National ID Number

1A. Version Number (NZ Licence only)

2. Expiry Date
3. First Name

4. Middle name (if present)
5. Last name
6. Date of birth


Once you have reviewed your details, press "Next". 




Step 13 (Final Step): Other Details


Please complete the final step by entering your contact details, citizenship & address.  


  1. Click the white box for each field to prompt the keypad to open, and type in your details. 
  2. After you have completed each field, click 'Submit'



Form Complete: Thank you!

Step 1: Get Started


  1. Open your email from First AML with the link to your secure ID verification form 
  2. Click "Open the Verification form"
  3. After opening the form Click 'Get started'



Step 2: Provide Consent


  1. Click the tick box to make it green, which means that you consent to First AML electronically verifying the information you provide. 
  2. Click/press the green box: ‘I accept’




Step 3: ID: Select Country & Type


  1. Click the white box to select the country your ID is from. 
  2. You can either scroll through the dropdown list to find your country, or you can start typing and select your country
  3. Select either 'Passport','Drivers Licence' or "National ID', depending on which ID you will be using to complete the form
  4. Click the green "Next" button



Step 4: Let's Verify Your Identity


  1. Click 'Next'




Step 5: Submit ID


  1. To take your ID photos on your phone, click 'Continue on phone'

Step 6: Continue on Phone


  1. Click 'Get secure link'



Step 7: Moving to Your Mobile (QR Code, SMS, or Copy Link) 


If you are unfamiliar with QR codes, we recommend using the SMS option: 'Get link via SMS' (Option B)


Option A: QR Code


The next screen will show you your QR code to scan with your phones camera. 


  1. Open your camera on your mobile device 
  2. Point the camera at the QR code as shown in photo 2, below
  3. Click the prompt on your mobile to be taken to the next step

Option B: Get link via SMS (RECOMMENDED)


  1. Click 'Get link via SMS'
  2. Enter your mobile number
  3. Open your mobile phone and click the link from your text message



Option C: Copy the link to your mobile phone

  1. Click 'Copy link'
  2. Click 'Copy'
  3. You will need to send yourself the copied link so you can copy and paste the link on your phone
  4. Paste the link into your mobile phone browser




Step 8: Mobile + Desktop Linking 


Once your mobile is linked with your desktop, your desktop will display photo 1, your mobile will display photo 2.


  1. On your mobile, click 'Next'

Step 9: Take & Review Photo


We suggest placing your ID on a flat surface in a well-lit area. 

  1. Click 'Take photo'
  2. Check your photo. If the photo is clear, click 'Upload', or if you need to retake the photo, click 'Redo'




Step 9A (NZ Licence only): Take & Review Photo


If you are completing the form with your Drivers Licence, you will be prompted to take a photo of the back of your Drivers Licence. Turn your licence around to take a photo of the back of your licence.  

  1. Click 'Take photo'
  2. Check your photo. If the photo is clear, click 'Upload', or if you need to retake the photo, click 'Redo'


            


Step 10: Record Video


  1. Press 'Record video'
  2. Press 'Enable camera'

Step 11: Allow Access & Get Ready to Record


  1. Press 'Allow' to allow access to the Microphone and Camera
  2. Position your face within the oval frame
  3. Press the red camera icon to start recording

Step 12: Take Video

Step 13: Check Video & Return to Your Desktop


Here you have the option to replay your video.

  2. Return to your desktop/computer

Step 14: Confirmation


  1. Back on your desktop, click 'Submit verification'
  2. Click 'Next'



Step 15: Enter ID Details 


Please enter the details of your ID. Click the white box for each field to prompt the keypad to open.

Step 16 (Final Step): Enter Personal Details


Please complete the final step by entering your personal details. 


  1. Click the white box for each field to prompt the keypad to open, and type in your details. 
  2. After you have completed each field, click 'Submit'
